Wild & Quiet began with a simple forest image engraved into basswood.
The design was there from the start, but the character of the piece really emerged during finishing. As the surface was sanded by hand, the darker engraved areas softened, the grain became more visible, and the forest started to feel less like an image sitting on the wood and more like part of the wood itself.
What began as a finishing step became part of the creative process.
This short workshop video follows that transformation, from the freshly engraved surface through sanding and into the finished Wild & Quiet piece.
The Wild & Quiet collection is inspired by quiet woods, still water, weathered surfaces, and the small pause that happens when something makes you look a little longer.
