Why Waysides Exists

Waysides started with a simple idea: some thoughts do not want to stay abstract.

They want to become something you can hold, use, carry, write in, hang on a wall, tuck into a bag, or leave somewhere you will see it again.

That is the part I keep coming back to.

An idea may begin as a feeling, a place, a visual fragment, a problem, or a question. At first, it is intangible. Then something happens in the making. Wood, paper, texture, shape, and use begin to give it form.

Waysides exists for that transformation.

It is a place for following ideas far enough to see what they become.

Sometimes that means a small object. Sometimes a notebook. Sometimes a collection grows around a mood or a place. Sometimes an experiment does not become a product at all, but still changes the next thing that gets made.

That uncertainty is part of the process.

The goal is not to make one kind of thing forever. The goal is to stay curious enough to notice when an idea wants to become physical, then give it the room to do that.

Wild & Quiet was one of the first ideas to take shape that way. It began with a forest image and became something more tactile through engraving, sanding, and finishing by hand.
